Springbok

Namaqualand Museum is housed in a former synagogue. On Koppie are the remains of a fort built by the British during the Anglo-Boer War, but destroyed by a boer commando led by Jan Smuts, later Prime Minister of the Union of South Africa. Goegap Nature Reserve: antilope such as springbok and gemsbok can be viewed. The Hester Malan Wild Flower Garden is also located here. A copper mining shaft established by Simon van der Stel in 1685 can be seen.
